Keren Carter, our office administrator, has a remarkable background as a manager and educator for Jewish congregations in California. Keren was the office manager and executive assistant at Congregation Beth Israel in Chico, where she also was an educator and co-leader of several programs: clergy support, Hebrew instruction, and mentoring of religious school students and adults. She also was a religious educator at Beth Chaim Congregation in Danville, and worked closely with the religious school director and clergy. Keren earned a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of Kentucky, and she completed Aleph Davvenen Leadership Training in 2008. Keren and her husband, Tim, are currently living in Walnut Creek. They have two grown children, Ryan in Chico, CA, and Emily in Portland, OR. In her spare time, when she isn’t looking for a rental on this side of the tunnel, she enjoys hiking, baking, and dabbling in home brewing.
