Tot Shabbat

Tot Shabbat is held once a month at 9:30 am on Saturday and is geared for children up to age six. However, all ages are welcome! Join us for prayer, music and stories, led by Mimi Greisman, specialist in Jewish Early Childhood Education, and Cantor Brian Reich. Don’t miss this fun program and the opportunity to meet other Jewish tots (and parents)!

February Newsletter
Welcome to the new Early Childhood Education newsletter from Temple Israel!  This newsletter will be sent out monthly and will include upcoming programs of interest to young families. This month the focus is programming for Purim.

Upcoming Events in February


Tot Shabbat 
This Saturday! 2/3, 9:30 am 
Join us for our monthly Tot Shabbat program, led by Mimi Greisman, a specialist in Jewish Early Childhood Education.  This program includes songs, puppets, Torah time, bubbles, snacks, and art projects with Mary Gold!
Thank you to Jackie Zipkin and family for hosting our  oneg. This program is free and open to all.
Tot Shabbat is (usually) the first Saturday of the month.  Upcoming dates are 3/3, 4/7, 5/5 and 6/2. 
Purim “Shimmy and Shake” Early Ed Shabbat Service
with Rabbi Chester 


Friday 2/23, 6:00 pm


Formerly known as sesame shabbat, this fun, monthly program is geared toward kids 5 and under. They’ll move, dance and sing as they learn about shabbat.
This month, we’ll be celebrating Purim and waving some graggers (noise makers) so don’t forget to come in costume!

Temple Israel’s Annual Purim Carnival

Wear your Purim costume and come on over!  Bouncy castle, Boswick the clown, carnival games and prizes, Shushan cafe!
All ages welcome.
Members: free
Public: $6 per person or $18 per family

with Rabbi Chester!
Wednesday 2/28,  7:00 pm


Enjoy the story of Esther while sipping a mojito. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be served.  Please bring your favorite hors d’oeurvres to share (dairy, vegetarian or vegan).
