TI Times (Temple Israel Times, a weekly email publication)

Purpose & Frequency:  The TI Times is a weekly publication sent out to the Temple Israel Membership on Thursday afternoons.  The TI Times is also posted on the TempleIsraelAlameda website.

Content description:   The TI Times contains information on Temple events (eg: Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, speakers, service schedules, religious school information, program speakers, etc.),  Temple Israel activities (Amitim, community events, etc.), Jewish events in the bay area, special events that our member families are affiliated with (Meals on Wheels, upcoming concerts and other performances, etc.) and other items of interest to the Temple Israel community.

Submission Deadline: The deadline for including announcements or events is 3 days before publication (The previous Monday) .  

Submission information: Submissions may be sent to the TI Times editor (titimes@templeisraelalameda.org).  Articles should be no more than 150 words, but may contain hyperlinks to URLs with additional information or sign-up information.

Requriements: All submissions must have the following information:
    Who is sponsoring the event             What is the event- a title
    When Date(s) and time(s)                Where Location
    Contact info:  Who to contact for more information (phone, email, etc.)

 

TI Website (http://www.templeisraelalameda.org)

Purpose & Frequency:  The TI Website is the online communications to Temple Israel members, prospective members and people online an interest in in Temple Israel

Content description: The Temple Israel Website (www.templeisraelalameda.org) contains:

1. Information about Temple Israel of Alameda and the Temple community   eg: location, contact information, photos, etc.
2. Temple calendaring information : eg: Shabbat services schedule, events, programs, etc.
3. Community information: eg:
4. Other information of interest to the Temple Israel community   eg: other Jewish information or events in and around the Bay Area. (Please note: events of member interest are normally included in the TI Times (see above) and the TI Times section of the TI Website.)

Any content submitted MUST contain contact and author information and is subject to editorial review or rejection without notice.

Submission Deadline: At least two weeks lead time.  Submissions can be sent to webmaster@templeisraelalameda.org.

 

Temple Israel Bulletin

Purpose and frequency: The Temple Israel Bulletin is a monthly publication sent out at the beginning of each month to the membership of Temple Israel.  (Additional copies are sent to non-members on a case-by-case-basis)

Content description The TI Bulletin contains monthly articles by the Clergy and Lay Leadership of the Temple, articles of interest regarding Temple Israel programs,  a monthly calendar of events, information about membership (birthdays, anniversaries, etc), and other items of interest to the Temple Israel Community.

Advertising is permitted subject to the approval of the editorial staff and clergy.

Most of the information contained in the Temple Israel Bulletin is contained on the TI website.

Submission Deadline: Deadline for submission of articles or other information is the 10th of the month preceding the month of publication.

All notices, announcements, articles, calendar items, or subject matter for all Temple Israel publications must contain the following and is subject to editing for space availability and content or rejection without notice.

If available, the URL where a reader may get additional information on the event or the organization sponsoring the event.
Information not necessarily contained in the article/notice
Contact name and number/email of person publishing the information (generally the TI Member)
Author of  article/event description
Title (relationship) of author to article/description
Which Temple Israel media the author would like the item published
Dates of publication (when should the item be dropped?)

All Submissions are reviewed by the editor, Rabbi, Cantor, staff and board as necessary and are subject to revision, modification or rejection without notice.  Submission does not imply nor guarantee inclusion into any Temple Israel publication.  All submissions become the property of Temple Israel. 

Availability of Temple Israel print publication to non-members:  The Temple Israel Bulletin is available to the general public by request for a limited time (1-3 issues).  To get a copy of the Bulletin, send a request to the Temple Israel office (office@templeisraelalameda.org)
